Once-Only Conference in Berlin on 28 November 2017

With regards to public sector digitisation, the once-only principle (OOP) aims at collecting information from citizens and businesses only once and at enabling public administrations to internally share this information - even across borders - to avoid duplication and to reduce administrative burden.

The conference on the once-only principle for citizens and businesses is a joint event of the two EU funded projects SCOOP4C and TOOP. Both projects investigate the implementation of the OOP in Europe on a cross-border level. While SCOOP4C is analysing how the OOP can be implemented in public services for citizens, TOOP will pilot OOP implementations for businesses.

The joint event aims at creating awareness about the importance of the OOP for administrative burden reduction. It will demonstrate the findings of SCOOP4C and TOOP over the first year and showcase cross-border OOP solutions for citizens and businesses. In subsequent group discussions, participants and speakers will investigate how the presented cross-border solutions can be spread across Europe to implement the once-only principle, and what drivers, enablers, and barriers they had or still have to face to exploit the full potentials of the OOP in dedicated domains.

For more information on the event, please find the full agenda here.

At 7 pm, there will be a joint dinner with members of the German National E-Governance Competence Center (NEGZ). This is also a good opportunity to discuss the future of European E-Government together. Participants of the once-only conference are also very welcome to participate at the NEGZ conference taking place at Bundespressehaus on 29 November 2017.
